While it is certainly not new, argan oil has been around since the 13th century and in more recent years it has become a miracle beauty product in the Western world. Argan oil is made using the argan kernels that are collected from the stones of the argan tree fruit. These trees can be found in the Moroccan Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve. Cosmetic argan oil can be used in different ways. It can be directly applied onto the skin or hair or as an additive in cosmetic preparation. It is often referred to as “liquid gold”.

Moroccan argan oil has become an extremely popular ingredient in hair care. It is known to keep the hair moisturized because it is rich in vitamin E and has powerful antioxidants. 1. Help Minimize Dandruff

Wearing any black blouse can be feel like the worse thing ever when you find white flakes on your shoulder. Argan oil undoubtedly helps sooth dry scalp that causes it to be itchy and flakey. Apply a 1-3 drops into hands, warm it up by rubbing your hands together and work the product in by massaging it into scalp using circular motions. The powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can help treat conditions that affect the scalp.

2. Moisturizes Hair

The vitamin E in argan oil helps increase hair’s elasticity that prevents breakage. When argan oil is deeply absorbed it can protect and treat split ends and damaged hair shafts that cause fizziness. Argan oil can penetrate the roots and ends that naturally restore luster and shine. Starting from the ends, apply 1-3 drops and warm it up by rubbing hands together. Apply to hair and work your way up the hair shaft towards the scalp.

Argan oil can help protect your hair during different styling techniques. It can be used as a leave-in conditioner for after showers to protect your hair against the damages of blow drying. DIY Hair Mask

Use argan oil alone or in conjunction with other powerful ingredients such as castor or coconut oil. Massage 7-10 full droppers from scalp to the end of the hair shaft using your hands. Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, dropper amounts can vary. Continue to massage the oil into your hair for about 20 minutes to make sure the hair is covered from root to end. Wrap hair for a 20-minute mask or overnight to wash out in the morning. After washing out your hair, proceed with your normal styling.

DIY Argan Oil Shampoo

Enhance your shampoo by pouring your current shampoo in the palm of your hand and adding a few drops of argan oil. Rub your hands together to mix well and apply to your hair. Continue your wash and rinse as you normally would.
