Why Use a Dead Sea Mud Mask?
There’s no doubt that mud masks are always a great way to deal with a break out or unhappy skin. Our skin harbors so much dirt, oil and enviornmental pollution that you skin These can sink deep into the pores, clogging them which can lead to breakouts. Especially if you wear makeup your skin definitely needs a little boost. Mud mask also work deep into the skin removing all of the dirt and toxins trapped.
How Often Should I Use A Mud Mask
After you know how your skin reacts to the mud mask, you can use as needed or once a week. Mud masks are drying and you don’t want to over dry your skin. Personally, my skin type is dry to normal; so I normally use it 1-2x a week. When I notice my skin is congested more than usual I will use the mask 3-4 times that week until my skin looks healthy again.
Step 1: Wash your Face
Before actually using the mud mask, I always make sure that I clean my face. Remove any makeup that you may have on. Then using my normal face wash and face tool I will clean the skin for 1-2 minutes. This will help prep my skin by cleaning and opening up the pores. Then pat dry.
Step 2: Mix Mud Mask
Time to take out the mask! Before putting on the mud mask, be sure it mixed well. Sometimes after a few months it can dry up a little, which is normal.. its MUD! If it is a bit dry, take some filtered water and add a little into the container and mix. Or with wet hands you can then mix the mask.
Step 3: Apply Mud Mask
Be sure to test a small part of the skin to test for skin sensitivity. I suggest testing the lower part of your face near your jaw.
If your skin is ready to go, then it’s time to apply the mask! Using your fingers or a face mask tool, apply a thin layer on the face. Be sure to avoid putting the mask too close to your eyes and mouth. Once your face is covered, massage mask in circular motions into your skin.
Step 4: Wait 10-15 minutes
After you finish applying the mask, set a timer for 10-15 minutes. This gives the mask time to dry and work its magic! Sit down and relax while you wait or continue going about your day.
Step 5: Rinse and Dry
Now that it’s time to rinse, be sure to use warm water. Using hot water can further irritate/damage skin and no one likes to wash their face with cold water. Then grab a clean towel and dry your face by using patting motions.
Step 6: Moisturize
The final step to having youthful happy skin is moisturizing! Always, always, always be sure to apply a facial oil or moisturizer. This will hydrate your skin allowing the natural glow to come through.
Things to keep in mind: If a moisturizer is not applied after, your skin will feel dry. This will make your skin try to combat the driness by producing more oil, which can lead to congested skin.
