What is a body scrub?

What is a Body Scrub?

A body scrub is an exfoliant that can be used all over your skin (excluding your face). Just like an exfoliant for your face, scrubs typically use something like dead sea salt. This is to help your skin shed that outer layer of dead skin cells. This is important because dead skin cells can pile up on your skin. This leads to clogged pores, rough or dry skin, and dull skin. In addition, scrubs can also target any problems or areas that regular soaps do not. For example, brighter skin, stretch marks, and much more!

Exfoliation and Hydration

So if exfoliating gets all the dead skin off, what about hydration? This is a key point because if you don’t hydrate your skin then you’ll be dry again. Dry skin itself can cause damage to your skin. This can lead to flakey skin, premature aging, and itchy skin. That being said it is important that you choose body scrubs that also hydrate. For example, our coconut scrub is targeted to shed those dead skin cells, but also hydrate your skin deeply.

How do I pick a body scrub for me?

How do I use a body scrub?

To start off I recommend using a body scrub before bed. I know not everyone showers before bed, but even a quick rinse off might work just a little better. After a long day, your skin has probably sweat and shed more dead skin than you think. Your skin also happens to repair itself at night. Using products before bed helps your skin soak it up and repair it with its aid.
When you shower you want to make sure that your water is warm. This will help open up your pores. You should wash your hair and body before applying the scrub. This helps get rid of any excess oil and debris on your skin. Once that is all done you can apply the scrub everywhere, or just areas you want to target. When you apply the scrub rub it in circular motions. You can let the scrub sit on your skin, or rinse it off right away. Last but not least, always make sure to follow up with a moisturizer to lock the hydration in.
